Clinton Nature Preserve

This 200-acre park contains nature trails and open exploration areas as well as Carnes Cabin, a pre-Civil War residence that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park was donated to Douglas County by Ms. Annie Mae Clinton and is required by Ms. Clinton’s will to remain in its natural state as much as possible.

Downtown Parklets

The parklets in Downtown Villa Rica are the first permanent parklet installation in Georgia. Primarily designed to provide an outdoor dining experience for patrons of two Main Street restaurants, they are also open to the general public.

Fullerville Jail

This historic landmark served in a city once known as the City of Fullerville, Georgia, from 1916 to 1956. It was preserved in 2009 and, with a new flag flying, was recognized as a place of history for the City of Villa Rica. The jail is located at The Fullerville Trailhead at 513 Rockmart Road.

Lamar Moody Recreation Center

Located at 2377 Lake Paradise Road, this 130-acre park includes an eight-acre lake and pond. The park is open daylight until dusk; admission is free. Boats are permitted with electronic motors only and a fishing license is required of all anglers.

Pine Mountain Gold Museum

Villa Rica is home to Georgia’s only gold museum located on an actual gold mine with gold and gem panning on-site. A 4,800 square-foot museum houses many exhibits of artifacts used to mine gold in the hills surrounding Villa Rica, as well as a selection of regional artifacts, some of which date back as far as 12,000 BC.

Scenic Train

Travel on the C.P. Huntington engine #310, an extremely rare tender car.The rail line travels around the base of Pine Mountain and goes directly through the heart of the ruins of a huge gold mining station.The train allows visitors to seeother exhibits at Pine Mountain, including the Stockmar homestead ruins, T-Block factory and live animal exhibit.

Sweetwater Valley RV Park & Camping

Camp under a canopy of hundred-year-old oaks and sycamores along the beautiful Sweetwater Creek in this locally owned and operated, quiet, family-oriented park with 36 shaded sites.

The MILL Amphitheater

This 1,200-capacity “green space” amphitheater hosts concerts, festivals, classic car and comedy shows, as well as annual events.The amphitheater is Downtown Villa Rica’s central gathering place for activity, growth, unity and energy. The MILL is located at 106 Temple Street.
